This 120-hour Certified Nurse Assistant training program is designed to prepare individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge in the first steps to a career in the medical field. Upon successful completion of the course, the graduate’s name will be placed on the State Certified Nurse Aide Registry and qualifies you to be a Home Health Aide.

Certified Nurse Assistants play a vital role in health care delivery by providing routine patient care. Working under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), they respond to patient’s needs, and check blood pressure, temperature, pulse and breathing. CNAs also assist patients while helping them change position, walk, bathe and eat. They generally have a great deal of patient contact and are important members of the health care team who help to develop patient relationships that foster trust.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSE
This program trains students to be certified on the Connecticut Nurse Assistant Registry. Students that complete the program sit for the state competency examination and upon successful completion of both class and exam are added to the Nurse Assistant Registry.
